- Standing, walking or running gives me joint pain (ankles, knees, hip or back)

- I have visible foot problems (bunions, fallen arches, corns, etc.)
- One of my legs is shorter than the other
- I have knock-knees or bow-legs
- My shoes wear out quickly or unevenly
- My feet “toe out” when I walk
- My parents had foot related problems

Custom orthotics are semi rigid plastic inserts that fit into your existing footwear. They support and improve abnormal foot function and accommodate painful areas of the foot. By controlling the position and motion of your foot, orthotics will help prevent the development of pain or the progression of any additional deformity. Custom orthotics are covered by most insurance plans.
At Ganaraska Chiropractic, Dr. Patton is trained in the latest computerized technology to assess your gait and your need for custom orthotics. During your biomechanical assessment you are asked to walk across a computerized mat that tracks your gait from the bottom up. It measures the timing and pressure through all phases of your gait. The program displays a 3D image of your foot as you walk. This image allows Dr. Patton to visually demonstrate to the patient their gait abnormalities and how it correlates to their pain and dysfunction.
